Anton Campbell pledges Michigan

Missouri's Anton Campbell will realize a life long dream when he signs his letter of intent this coming February. Campbell talks about his decision to commit to Michigan.

"Yes, I committed to Michigan." Said running back Anton Campbell. "I didn't go to the Washington game but I watched it on television.

"That was an exciting game. I chose Michigan because of the coaching staff, the facilities and Michigan was a childhood favorite of mine. I guess you could say it's like a dream come true.

"I think I'll be taking my (Michigan) official visit during the weekend of the Penn State game."

Campbell, a 6-foot, 190-pound, running back from O'Fallon (MO) Ft. Zumwalt rushed for 1,540 yards and 18 touchdowns as a junior.

He was named all-state in 2001 and he had also received scholarship offers from Michigan State, Illinois, Purdue and Northern Illinois.

Campbell visited Michigan unofficially during the summer and that's when he received his scholarship offer.

Campbell has been timed at 4.4 seconds in the 40-yard dash. He carries a 3.1 GPA in the classroom and scored 18 on his ACT.
