OC Braxston Cave Gets Jr. Day Offer

GoBlueWolverine spoke to one of the Michigan Junior Day's top visitors, Mishawaka Penn's Braxston Cave. The northern Indiana offensive center prospect received a Michigan scholarship offer at the visit.

GoBlueWolverine spoke Sunday afternoon to Offensive Center prospect Braxston Cave (6-2.5, 290) from Mishawaka, Indiana, Penn. (former Wolverine Scott Dreisbach's school in Northern Indiana).

Did you get a Michigan offer at Junior Day?

"Yeah, I did."

"The day went real well. I came early, and Coach Carr met with me one-on-one, my parents were sitting in the room as well. I had never talked with Coach Carr for very long like that before."

Did you think you were going to get a Michigan offer?

"I was pretty surprised. I mean, I was hoping for it ..."

Did you commit?

You were at a Michigan game last fall ... had you been to U-M other than that before?

"No, I haven't camped at Michigan or anything. But was attended the Vanderbilt game last fall."

What other schools have offered you so far?

"Just Michigan and Indiana so far. I'll be going to Junior Days at Purdue and Iowa in the coming weeks. And I'm going to visit Florida and South Florida in April. So we'll see what happens at those visits."

Do you have a recruiting timetable?

"I'm going to wait until after my season is over. I want to mainly focus on my senior season first."

Do you plan to get up to U-M again?

"Yes, I'll go to a Michigan practice this spring."

Cave attended this past January's U.S. Army Junior Combine, where he performed well and looked like a future interior lineman in college, most likely an offensive center ... a rare breed of lineman.
