East Pa. TE Graham Plans Michigan Visits

Pennsylvania Tight End Hubie Graham from West Scranton, in East Pa., has a Michigan offer plus seven others -- and Graham told GBW he plans to visit Ann Arbor a couple different times in the next few months.

Pa. Tight End Hubie Graham (6-4, 225) told Scout.com recently that Coach Steve Szabo, who recruits Eastern Pa. for Michigan, came to his school in January and, "... spent an hour and a half watching film with my coach. I wasn't able to speak to him at that time, but he said he'll be coming back and that he was very impressed with my blocking ability. I'm not too familiar with Michigan, but I do like that they really involve the tight end in their offense. I love to block and their guys do a good job at it."

So GoBlueWolverine spoke to Graham Thursday.

We understand Michigan has offered you a scholarship? Tell us about it.

"Michigan was my third offer about a couple of weeks ago. Coach Szabo told my football coach to have me call him and coach Szabo put me in contact with Coach Carr who gave me the offer."

Have you ever bee to Ann Arbor?

"I've never been to the University of Michigan campus, but I'm planning on going for either a spring practice or the spring game, depending on which one I can make it to."

Who else has offered you at this point?

"My offers are Michigan, Clemson, Iowa, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Minnesota, and Pittsburgh."

Do you have a top list of schools?

"No school has any sort of lead as of right now."

Do you have plans for the spring or summer?

"I will be going to Pitt's junior day on the 31st. I've already been to Syracuse for their junior day and I'm really familiar with them because I've been so a few of their camps."

"I am definitely looking to go to Michigan's camp this summer. I'm not sure I'm staying for the whole time or just a day yet."

What is your timetable?

"I plan on deciding after I take all my official visits."

As a junior, Graham caught 35 passes for 615 yards and seven touchdowns, and was named second-team Class AAA All-State by the Associated-Press. Graham earned All-Region honors as a defensive end -- over the past two seasons at D-end he has recorded a total of 161 tackles.
