Witherspoon Has a Clear Leader

New Jersey Linebacker Marcus Witherspoon attended the Michigan spring game and came out of the visit with the Wolverines as his leader. In fact, he almost committed to the Wolverines during the weekend. Has anything changed?

New Jersey Linebacker Marcus Witherspoon (6-2, 210) from Abescon Holy Spirit received a U-M Signing Day offer and attended the Michigan spring game. He reminded GoBlueWolverine of this on Saturday afternoon:

"I went up to Michigan again for the spring game and loved it. In fact I was thinking about committing during the visit, but Coach (Steve) Szabo (U-M's linebackers coach who also recruits N.J. for the Wolverines) told me to take my time and be sure. He is still telling me the same thing."

Is Michigan at the top for you?

"Oh yeah. Michigan is number one and Florida is number two at this point."

"Everyone at Michigan is so nice and Coach Carr is just really down to earth. It just feels right."

Have you visted Florida yet?

"No, not yet. I'm planning on going down after I get out of school in June."

When are you going to make your final decision?

"I'm looking at August now because I need to visit Florida before I decide."

"Michigan is still number one in my heart though."

The Wolverines' interest in Witherspoon seems to remain strong as well ... GBW will keep track of his recruitment this summer.

Witherspoon made 90 tackles as a junior, despite playing most of the season with a shoulder separation. For his efforts he was named First Team All State.
