Texas DB Grew Up "Loving Michigan"

Since a great performance playing over an injury at the Dallas Scout.com Combine, the offers have been coming in for this top Dallas safety prospect ... including one, he told GoBlueWolverine last night, from Michigan.

Dallas Skyline safety Keanon Cooper had a great Dallas Scout.com Combine, measuring 5-11.5 and 188 pounds, and running a 4.50 sec. 40 and impressing in the QB-WR-DB drills, all on an injured leg (click for Scout.com Dallas Combine All Combine Team). Since the combine the offers have been coming in for Cooper, including, he told GoBlueWolverine, from Michigan:

"Coach Bedford was in my school a couple weeks ago and offered me."

And he surprised us by adding:

"I grew up loving Michigan ... because my brother was an Ohio State fan so I would always root against him and for Michigan. I am also a Texas fan but I like both schools."

What are some other offers that you have?

"Kansas State, Minnesota, Texas Tech, Northwestern, Nebraska, Tulsa, TCU, Purdue, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Arizona, Mississippi."

Are there any schools you are still looking to hear from?

"Yeah I went to a junior day at Texas and I'm hoping to hear more from them; Texas A&M; I've also been talking a little to USC so I'm waiting to see how that turns out."

Are you going to take any summer visits or do any camps?

"I'm not sure yet because I'm going to be focusing on a summer workout schedule. I might go to Texas' camp in June but I'm not sure yet."

Do you have a top 3-4-5?

"Not at this point. I'm still hearing from some schools, and I'm waiting to see what they all have to say first before I decide on any rankings."

When are you looking to make your decision?

"I'm not sure. I want to be able to take my visits before I make my decision, so it will depend on when I take my visits because I want to make the right decision."

"I might take some of my officials during the football season but I might also wait depending on how my senior football season goes."
