Guy Gets Offered

6-foot-6 Las Vegas Western defensive lineman Lawrence Guy had a University of Michigan visitor at his school this past week ... have the Wolverines jumped in with one of the big guy's earliest big-time offers?

GoBlueWolverine spoke with defensive lineman Lawrence Guy (6-6, 265) from Las Vegas Western, who earned First Team All-State honors as a junior.

Has a Michigan coach been in your school recently?

"Yes. Coach English came to my school (note: Ron English recruits the Far West for Michigan). He asked me what my offers were so far."

"Then he said I better go home and tall my parents that I have another offer -- from Michigan. When I told them we were all excited."

So what are your other offers so far?

"UNLV, San Diego, and Arizona."

"I was just at San Diego this past weekend."

Do you have any connections to Michigan, or have you ever been up there?

"No ... is it cold?"

(We assured Lawrence that Michigan had a climate very similar to San Diego, only a little more temperate - ha!)

It looks like you are pretty early in the recruiting process ... do you have a timetable?

"I'll take some official visits before I make my decision -- and Michigan will definitely be one of them."

Which D-line position do you see yourself playing in college?

"I can play either -- defensive end or defensive tackle."

With a 4.56 sec. shuttle to his credit at a combinre this spring, Guy does have the quickness to play DE as well as DT.

Here once again is the junior film of Guy, who last season made 90 tackles and 11 sacks: Lawrence Guy film.
