Staley Looking to Visit Ann Arbor

Guthrie, OK ATH Kye Staley is one of the top two-way players in the Midwest. He could play a number of different positions in college, so he updated GBW on where the Wolverines are recruiting him at and if he will make it to Ann Arbor soon for a visit.

With a bevy of offers including ones from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Tulsa, LSU, Nebraska, Kansas, Kansas State, Colorado State, Texas Tech, Michigan and Arkansas, it is easy to assume Kye Staley is quite a player. Look at his stats and find even further confirmation. As a junior, he rushed for 1450 yards and 21 TDs and also passed for 1008 yards and 8 scores all from the quarterback position. Schools are recruiting him at many positions including running back and wide receiver, but the Wolverines don't have much offense planned for him.

"Michigan is recruiting me as a defensive back," he reported, "Two years ago I played quarterback, running back and wide receiver but last year, my junior year, I mostly played quarterback. So my senior year, I'll play mostly quarterback and kick return, punt return and a little free safety."

Although nearby schools like Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are recruiting the multi-talented Staley, he is trying to at least get out and see what other states have to offer.

" I'm going to try to go to different camps and visits out of state but as of right now, I'm not sure exactly where and when."

Staley said he had wanted to commit before the season started in the fall, but lately he hasn't been as sure of that plan. What he does know is that he will take his time and consider different factors before making a decision.

"Really, location is not a problem, [initial] playing time wise it doesn't really matter to me. Tradition is important, I know Michigan has a great tradition of winning and that's what I look for in a school."

But Staley has yet to ever come up to the Great Lakes State and Ann Arbor is indeed a long way from Guthrie, it might not be too far to keep him from coming up and seeing campus.

"I don't know when I plan to visit [Michigan], but I do know that I will."
