Robert Blanton Changing Things Up

North Carolina defensive back Robert Blanton has come with his team to the Michigan Summer Camp the past three years. Wolverine fans were hoping he'd be coming in again this summer ... but Robert told GoBlueWolverine Sunday that he has decided to take a different course this June.

Matthews, North Carolina defensive back Robert Blanton (6-2, 190) has decided not to accompany his team to Ann Arbor this summer ... where is he going, and is it a "tell?" GoBlueWolverine spoke to Robert Sunday evening.

Are you going to be camping at Michigan this summer?

"No. I'm going to Notre Dame instead ... because I haven't been up there in awhile (to South Bend; he visited there in early April) ... and I want to compare the difference techniques and coaches and players to Michigan's camps. I've been to Michigan's each of the last few years."

So, does this mean Notre Dame has the edge over Michigan for you?

"No, I just want to see Notre Dame Dame as well so I can compare."

Are you going to any other camps this summer?

"No, we just had a team camp but that's about it."

Do you have any summer visits planned?

"Next weekend I'm going out to USC, and then Virginia Tech the next weekend after that."

Do you have a top 3-4-5?

"I don't have a top 5 yet, but I'm looking to get it down after the Notre Dame camp."

When are you looking to make your final decision?

"Probably be in August."

Would you take your official visits regardless?

"Yeah, I would take a few of them."

What are you looking for in a school?

"Great academics, coaches ... and the environment will be the biggest difference."
