Wilson to Camp in Ann Arbor

McKees Rock, PA RB/LB Christian Wilson has already visited Michigan twice and recently indicated that he will be making his way back to Ann Arbor in the near future. He also told GoBlueWolverine that change is on the horizon in his recruitment.

Montour High (McKees Rock, PA) RB/LB Christian Wilson hasn’t been a stranger around Ann Arbor this spring, and he plans to add another visit to his ledger late next month when he hits town for the annual summer camp.

“I think I am going to make it up there actually,” Wilson said. “I’m going two days. I’m going to see if I can hang with the players for one day and then go to work out the next day.”

Michigan will be one of a few stops during the month of June and it is part of a turning point in Wilson’s recruitment. The trips will go a long way toward helping him make some important decisions.

“It’s slowly starting to narrow down a little bit,” Wilson said regarding the number of schools he is considering. “As soon as it gets to like six, that’s when I’ll start telling people who that top six is.”

Wilson has devised a strategy to make his list more manageable, and he hopes to get to his desired number by the time the fall rolls around.

“Basically what I’m trying to do right now is to get it to like three and three, because some schools want me for offense and some want me for defense,” Wilson explained. “I want to get a top three for offense and a top three for defense.”

At this point the Wolverines have an extremely strong shot of making the cut as one of the offensive schools on that final list. Once he has determined that top group of candidates, he still plans to take a few official visits in the fall.

“Michigan just said H-back,” he said. “They said if you came here you will be an H-back. They talked about how I would have the chance to start as a freshman. At the position that they want me for, they basically have no one there. There are schools like Virginia Tech that want me for both, but if I went there I would want to play defense. They are shorter there (in numbers) and they’ve always been a good defensive school. If I went to Michigan I would want to play offense."
