"I got a call from Coach (Fred) Jackson (running backs) at about 8 pm yesterday," Green said. "That was the first time I ever talked with him. He told me that they need cornerbacks to step in and said that I'm the guy they are looking for. He put me into the same category as Ty Law and Charles Woodson. He said he liked the way I move and my body-type. Then he said they'll send me a letter, offering me.
"Then, this morning he texted me and I called him back and spoke with Coach (Lloyd) Carr and also Coach (Vance) Bedford (defensive backs)," Green said. "Coach Carr said I could come in and really help their team. He also said I'm in the same category as Law and Woodson.
"Coach Carr also asked me if I was afraid to leave home," Green said. "I said no, I can live anywhere and that staying close to home is not a big deal. I just want to feel comfortable and contribute. I'm looking for a place where the coaches are cool and things are laid-back and where there is good tradition and fan support.
"I thanked him for their offer and told him I was interested. They said they'll keep in touch with me and that they would come hard after me.
"Now that I know they are interested, I'd say they are in my top seven schools," he said. "My top five, and this is in no particular order, would be USC, Alabama, LSU, Florida and Arizona State. If I had to pick a top three, it would be USC, LSU and Alabama, but no order. I can't give you a top two. I really can't. I couldn't rank 'em yet.
"I can say I'll go through the whole process. I don't want to decide until Letter-of-Intent Day."
Green reports a 3.0 core GPA and a 17 ACT which he is retaking in June. "I'm already qualified. I'd just like to do better on my test."
