Louis. TE Edwards Still Plans U-M Trip

Tyler Edwards is the top tight end prospect in Louisiana, and Michigan fans had expected him to make a trip to Ann Arbor in the summer. Suddenly there has been talk that the Wolverines are out of it for Edwards. GoBlueWolverine decided to find out.

Tyler Edwards (6-4, 240) from Ouachita Parish High School in Monroe, Louisiana, grew up an LSU fan.

But the Tigers signed three tight ends this past February, and Edwards acknowledged in mid-May that:

"They have a lot of tight ends right now and are deep at that position."

So the talented TE has been planning to look around this summer and visit Michigan, Oklahoma, Miami and Florida.

Recently, however, there were rumors that Edwards had narrowed his search to LSU, Alabama and Miami.

So GoBlueWolverine asked him on Thursday.

"No, I don't have a top three," he said. "I haven't narrowed it down yet."

And as far as visiting Michigan goes, Edwards also reiterated:

"I'm still planning on taking a visit to Michigan, in July."

As far as a top group, Edwards said:

"I do have a top five though."

That top five consists of LSU, Alabama, Miami, Michigan and Florida. However Oklahoma and Florida State may be summer stops for him as well.

Edwards finished his junior season with 23 receptions for 360 yards and four touchdowns. He was named 1st Team Class 4A All-State.

Edwards reports a 3.0 core GPA and a 22 ACT.
