Michael Floyd Wows on Camp's Last Day

Minneapolis wide receiver Michael Floyd made it in for the last day of the Michigan camp, helmet and gear in hand. There he worked out -- and wowed with his performance. After his day was over he and his mother talked to GoBlueWolverine.

GoBlueWolverine spoke with Minneapolis wideout Michael Floyd, and his mother, after his day at the Michigan camp today (Thursday).

Floyd's mother told us, "We're making a driving tour of Midwestern schools. We were at Wisconsin yesterday. From here we're going to Ohio State for their camp for a day. Then we're going to Notre Dame."

As far as what she is looking for in a school for her son, she said:

"Me, I'm interested in academics."

Then we asked Michael if he was just interested in Midwestern schools, or if he was looking around the country as well ... at the Florida schools, at USC, or others.

He said:

"Florida ... I'm also interested in Florida."

Floyd had been to Florida earlier in the month.

Floyd reminded onlookers of instate wideout Fred Smith -- both are big receivers with speed. Floyd is a little bigger -- more like 6-3 to Smith's 6-2 -- and a more polished receiver at this stage. He's big and strong at about 210 pounds, and could go deep as well.
