Michigan Has Number 8!

The Michigan Wolverines offered a few players at summer camp last week and it is already beginning to pay off as one of the top players from camp gave his word to don the maize and blue today.

Traverse City offensive lineman Rocko Khoury infored Go Blue Wolverine this afternoon that he has committed to the University of Michigan. The 6'5, 290-lb Khoury committed to the Wolverines over offers from Central Michigan, Michigan State, Western Michigan and Eastern Michigan.

"I did it this morning," Khoury said of his verbal, "I called Chris [Singletary] and he was the first to know. I called Coach Moeller and Coach Carr, but I couldn't get them so I left them a voicemail."

Khoury, recruited heavily as an offensive tackle, is slated to try guard and center as well for the Wolverines. He had originally wanted to take his time, go to a few more camps and make a decision a bit later, but some new information changed his mind.

"I didn't know about the early offers," he said, "and there are a number of linemen they are looking at and if another committs, you can lose your offer, I didn't know that so I was kind of riding it out."

Khoury is the fourth verbal committment the Wolverines have pulled from in-state, joining OT Dann O'Neill, DT Mike Martin and CB Boubacar Cissoko.

GoBlueWolverine.com will have more on Khoury in the next few days, including video highlights.
