Some of the most anticipated segments of the annual Army All-American game are the school announcements that many of the players deliver live on national television. In an exhibition that lacks any substantive drama, the pulling of the hats from the bags is the only real source of it. That's why it should come as no surprise that first annual ESPN High School All American game will also have live announcements as a featured aspect. One of the highly touted prospects likely to announce his college intentions that day is McKees Rock, PA RB/LB Christian Wilson.
"Yeah, that's probably what I'm going to do," Wilson said. "I'll probably announce it then. If I pick a school before (the game), I'll probably wait to announce it then. If I don't end up picking a school before it, then I'll be announcing it in the game anyway."
Before pulling the trigger for any particular program, Wilson wants to be
100% sure that he is making the correct decision. To him that signifies
his intent to not back out of his word after the fact. It may also mean
not visiting other schools. That is clearly one of the things he is pondering
as he analyzes where his recruitment stands at this point.
"I'm not too sure if I'd do that," Wilson said regarding whether he'd still take visits if he silently committed to a school. "I don't know if I'm going to do that or not actually. I don't know about having another school pay all of that money for an official, and you've already committed to a school. I'm not too sure about that yet."
At this point, Wilson also isn't sure that he'll stick to his initial plan to reach a decision before the first game of the year.
"I don't know if I'm going to make it before football season or not," he admitted. "If I can then I will. I'm starting to doubt that will happen, but we'll see."
