McGuffie to Christian Wilson: "Why Wait?"

McKees Rock, PA RB/LB Christian Wilson received a call this afternoon from a young man that he might share a backfield with for the next four years. New Michigan commit Sam McGuffie phoned the Keystone State star to make a pitch for the Maize & Blue.

After McKees Rock, PA RB/LB Christian Wilson first talked to Houston Cy Fair RB Sam McGuffie a few weeks ago, he had a pretty good idea that the explosive tailback planned to showcase his skills at the University of Michigan.  Today Wilson received a call confirming that earlier suspicion and making a pitch to have him follow suit.

"He just called me like an hour ago," said Wilson.  "He was saying stuff about how he committed and how I should too.  He told me that I need to go ahead and get it out of the way like he did and not wait."

"Stuff like that."

At this point Wilson, who wasn't ready to go on the record regarding any leanings, is thinking harder and harder about how and when he will announce a decision.  His participation in the ESPN All American Game on January 5th remains a major factor

"That's probably the only thing as to why I would wait (to announce)," said Wilson.  "If I know where I want to go, then I might tell the coach and wait until (the game).  That's really the only thing right there."

One lucky coaching staff from Michigan, Clemson, Rutgers, Virginia Tech, or North Carolina could be in line to receive good news in the not too distant future.
