Smith Makes His Choice

Detroit Southeastern wide receiver Fred Smith, the top uncommitted prospect left in Michigan announced his college choice at his high school this evening. It came down to an instate battle and in the end, MSU won out. 4-star prospect Fred Smith became the Spartan's 4th verbal committment on the year.

The 6'3, 206-lb Smith caught 45 passes last season for 600 yards and 8 touchdowns and also grabbed 7 interceptions on defense. On the basketball court, Smith averaged 23 points per game.
