Demens Torn Between Two

Detroit Country Day LB Kenny Demens previously made tentative plans to announce his college decision, but a change of heart shortly thereafter caused him to re-think things. The talented youngster chatted with GoBlueWolverine recently and gave us the latest on his recruitment, including his new timetable.

With his season fast approaching last week, Detroit Country Day linebacker Kenny Demens informed GoBlueWolverine that he was ready to bring his recruitment to a close. Then, almost as quickly as he had settled on a decision, uncertainty began to creep in.

“I thought I was ready to announce it, man,” Demens told GoBlueWolverine. “I had in my mind what I wanted to do. Then later I figured out that I’m not ready yet. The thing is, one day it would be Michigan and the next day it would be Nebraska. There was this whole back and forth thing. I would have ended up committing somewhere on the fourth and then regretting it because in a couple of days I’d be feeling another place. That’s the whole thing. I don’t want to make a regretful choice.”

While Demens is still clearly torn, his family has made it clear to him whom it is they’re pulling for. Either way, though, he knows they’ll be in his corner.

“They want me to get it over with, but only if it’s Michigan,” Demens said laughing. “Other than that, they aint having it (laughing). I know they are going to support me whatever. They say take my time.”

At this point, how much time Demens will take to settle on a choice is still up in the air.

“I can’t even say right now,” Demens said regarding when he would make a final decision. “I’d probably say for sure after the official visit. That’s a for sure. If I was to commit any earlier than that, it probably wouldn’t be pre-planned. It would probably just be something I felt. My visit to Michigan won’t be planned too far in advance because it’s not too far from home. I’ll probably go to Nebraska for the Oklahoma State game. I think it’s in October. It might even be in November.”

Demens will likely be in Ann Arbor for the Wolverines’ opener this weekend versus Appalachian State.
