The Michigan Wolverines had done an outstanding job of gaining a foothold in the recruitment of Greenville, SC CB J.T. Floyd. That, however, was a product of the efforts of a Lloyd Carr led staff. Floyd maintained an interest in the Wolverines during their search for a replacement while hoping they would find one he found appealing. As it turns out, they did just that.
“That is a great hire,” Rodriguez said. “I think he will go out and get the type of athletes that Michigan normally doesn’t get.”
At this point the question isn’t whether Floyd is still interested in Michigan… he is. The question is how interested is Michigan in him.
“I just would like to know what type of player does he want,” Floyd said. “What kind of defensive scheme will he run? I play an aggressive style of football out on that corner spot, man to man. Wherever I go I just would like a fair opportunity to play. That is all I ask for.”
Floyd is willing to wait to find out the answer to that question. He isn’t in a rush to end his recruitment according to his father.
“We are just sitting back and waiting to see what happens,” Mr.
Floyd said. “I believe it was a good hire for Michigan. I am sure that
he will contact us. Then we will see how things go from there.”
