Kolarik Named CCHA Player of the Week

U-M icer Chad Kolarik is the CCHA Offensive Player of the Week for the first time of the season after his weekend performance in Michigan's two-game series with the Western Michigan Broncos. Kolarik tallied five goals, two assists and a +3 rating in the two Michigan wins.

Senior forward Chad Kolarik is the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in his Michigan career. Leading Michigan to a pair of wins, Kolarik increased added seven points and a +3 rating to his numbers.

In the opener on Friday night, Kolarik assisted on the eventual game-winning goal, and added an insurance marker of his own later on in the contest. He also assisted on a second goal in the game.

Finishing off the Broncos on Saturday night, Kolarik 's hot shooting continued with a four goal outburst in the Wolverines 5-1 win.

Kolarik now has 17 goals on the season.

The weekend hat trick was the third of Kolarik's Michigan career. Each of the other two came back in October of 2006. They led to Kolarik's first selection as CCHA Offensive Player of the Year.

Kolarik and the No. 1-ranked Wolverines next return to the ice at Yost Ice Arena to host the No. 8 Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Face-off of scheduled for 8:05 with CSTV providing live television coverage of the event.
