Recruits Spotted at the Iowa Game

Perhaps fortunately for the Wolverines, Saturday's Iowa game was primarily an 'undergrad' recruiting day. But there were several top juniors and sophomores in attendance -- and a couple seniors as well.

Recruiting and Recruiting Targets Spotted

- Michigan commitment: All-American offensive lineman Jake Long (6-7, 295 lbs., 5.0 in the 40, 340-lb. bench press, 2.7 GPA) from Lapeer, Mich., East. He is's #72 prospect.

- Running Back Justin Valentine (6-2, 205 lbs., 4.45 in the 40, 3.1 GPA) from Columbus, Ohio, Eastmoor (former Wolverine Marcus Ray's school). He also attended the Michigan Spring Game.

Junior Recruiting Targets Spotted

- Junior 'Athlete' Morgan Trent (6-0, 180 lbs., 4.4 in the 40) Orchard Lake St. Mary's. He is considered perhaps the #1 instate junior.

- Running back Derrick Brooks (6-1, 180 lbs., 4.5 in the 40) from Detroit Catholic Central.

- Junior offensive lineman Alex Mitchell (6-4, 300 lbs.) from Bay City Central. He also attended the PSU game.

- Junior Jerry Wazkowski (6-3, 220 lbs.) from Cudahy, Wisconsin (alma mater of John Navarre and freshman running back Pierre Rembert). He also attended the Utah game.

- Junior running back Tony Bridges (5-10, 185) from Kalamazoo, Mich., Loy Norrix.

- Junior lineman Corvin Nash (6-3, 240 lbs.) from Detroit Pershing.

Sophomore Recruiting Targets Spotted

- Sophomore defensive tackle Terrance Taylor (MSU Nike stats: 6-0, 294 lbs., and an impressive 24 repetitions of 185 lbs. in the bench press) from Muskegon Mich. He is considered one of the top three instate sophomores. He also attended the Utah game.

- Sophomore quarterback Evan Sharpley (6-2, 175 from Marshall) . He is considered one of the top five instate sophomores.
