Porter Named A Hobey Finalist

Senior center Kevin Porter was named a finalist for the 2008 Hobey Baker Award early on Thursday afternoon. Porter has recorded a 28-28-56 line in just 38 games this season. He is one of 10 finalists named before the list is trimmed to three just before the 2008 Frozen Four.

University of Michigan senior center Kevin Porter was named one of 10 finalists for the 2008 Hobey Baker Award early on Thursday. Porter led the No. 1-ranked Wolverines with 56 points on 28 goals and 28 assists in just 38 games. He also skated with a +29 rating through this point in the season.

The Hobey Baker will be awarded on April 11 at the NCAA Frozen Four in Denver.

As the captain of the 2007-08 team, Kevin Porter led an upstart young group of Wolverines to the No. 1-ranking with a record of 29-5-4.
