All Eyez on Newsome ... His Eyez are Where?

When you are a high profile recruit you may get the feeling sometimes that your every move is being watched. Well these days Kevin Newsome has that feeling as his recruiting heats up ... all eyes are on him but Kevin has his eyes on the schools also.

As was stated in Part I (Newsome & Family's Plan) of GoBlueWolverine's interview with Virginia quarterback Kevin Newsome, the run-pass QB has a plethora of other schools that are paying close attention to him. But -- there is one school that continues to stick out of the pack to him. "I cannot walk anywhere in my house without seeing something from Michigan a letter or something. They are recruiting me the hardest."

So what is it that impresses him about the Maize and Blue? "It is there tradition at Michigan ... it is just something about seeing that M. Michigan is the like godfather of college football."

Kevin is certainly looking at other factors ... and Michigan's is favorable with those as well:"Early playing time is important," he told GBW. "I would like to go to a school and play early." However, he is quick to add: "I just want a fair chance at starting -- I am not worried about the depth chart at all."

When Kevin visits Michigan as well as other schools he will look for a certain vibe: "How a team interacts with each other, the atmosphere at the school ... and just the vibe that I have about being there."

Kevin has already had a chance to speak with head coach Rich Rodriguez. "I have spoken with Coach Rodriguez. We talked about the offense and spring practice. Coach Rodriguez seems like a straight forward person and a hard-nosed coach who wants to win."

Newsome describes himself as a football player as a pocket passer who can run fast. Kevin feels like he is a quarterback, not a 'dual quarterback'. "I will do what I need to do to win."

Michigan clearly has a very good chance with Kevin Newsome considering the attention that they are showing him ... but at this time he is still sorting everything out.

Newsome and his parents will visit quite a few schools -- including, just in April, Boston College, Michigan, Illinois, Kentucky, Virginia Tech and Penn State -- and then they hope to decide sometime this summer, before his football season begins. "I want to commit soon around August." Kevin said ... and Kevin Sr. chimed in with: "We don't want this to go on too much longer."

Just how Newsome will announce his decision he is not sure of at this time. "I'm just not sure yet," he said.

With the schools, and fans, that are keeping close tabs as he makes that important decision ... Kevin knows All Eyez will be on him.
