Nov. 16 Wisconsin Game Visitors

- Super linebacker Lamarr Woodley (Dec. 6 official visit, MSU Nike stats: 6-1 1/2, 250 lbs., 4.0 in the shuttle; 4.72 in the 40, 4.0 in the shuttle, 29-inch vertical jump, 315-lb. bench press, 2.9 GPA/16 ACT) from Saginaw, Mich.

Official visit: Super quarterback Clayton Richard (Nov. 15 official visit, 6-5, 225 lbs., 4.7 in the 40, 4.0 GPA/1340 SAT) from Lafayette, Ind., McCutcheon

. Again outside the stadium, I also ran into Michigan commitments OL Jake Long (6-7, 295 lbs., 5.0 in the 40, 340-lb. bench press, 2.7 GPA) from Lapeer, Mich., East and TE/OL Adam Kraus (6-6, 275 lbs., 4.9 in the 40, 300-lb. bench press, strong student) from New Orleans Brother Martin. The two were inseparable -- 'bookends' I'd say. BIG bookends. I said hi to Kraus and his parents just briefly in the parking lot and Adam said, "Jake and I are already best friends." They met and started hanging around each other this summer at the Michigan Camp.

- Also spotted: Fullback Arthur Boyd (6-3, 255 lbs., 3.4 GPA/qualified) from Shaker Heights, Ohio. He has been to home games in the past as well.

Many juniors were spotted as well, including:

- 'Athlete' Morgan Trent (6-0, 180 lbs., 4.4 in the 40) Orchard Lake St. Mary's. He is considered perhaps the #1 instate junior. He also attended the Iowa game.

- Junior offensive lineman Alex Mitchell (6-4, 300 lbs.) from Bay City Central. This was his 4th straight Michigan home game.

- Friends 'Athlete' Charles Stewart (6-0, 180 lbs.) from Farmington Hills, Mich., Harrison and lineman Dewayne Roland (6-3, 260 lbs.) from Southfield, Mich., Lathrup.

- Quarterback Bryan Hoyer (6-4, 180 lbs.) from Cleveland St. Ignatius.

- 'Athlete' David Brytus (6-0, 190 lbs.) from West Allegheny, Penn.

- Athlete' Brian Hildebrand (6-0, 190 lbs.) from Coruna, Calif.

- Official visit: All-American defensive back/‘athlete' Ryan Mundy (PSU Nike stats: 6-2, 200 lbs., 16 reps of 185 lbs.; 4.45 in the 40, 10.7 100 meters, 290-lb. bench press, 2.7 GPA/830 SAT in 2001) from Pittsburgh, Penn., Woodland Hills (teammate of Steve Breaston). He is MaxEmfingerRecruiting.com's #5 strong safety.

- Official visit: All-American defensive back Paul Oliver (6-0, 180 lbs., 4.42 in the 40) from Kennesaw, Georgia, Harrison. He is TheInsiders' #23 prospect.

- Unofficial visitor: Michigan commitment quarterback Sam Keller (2001 Michigan camper, 6-4, 205 lbs., 4.85 in the 40) from Danville, Calif., San Ramon Valley. He is TheInsiders' #26 quarterback.

Grady is considered one of the top three instate sophomores. - Unofficial visitor: Sophomore defensive tackle Terrance Taylor (MSU Nike stats: 6-0, 294 lbs., and an impressive 24 repetitions of 185 lbs. in the bench press) from Muskegon Mich. Taylor is considered one of the top three instate sophomores. He also attended the Utah game. - Scheduled official visit POSTPONED: All-American defensive/tight end Doug Van Dyke (2002 Michigan camper, 6-4, 245 lbs., 4.8 in the 40, 2.4 GPA/21 ACT) from Marshall, Mich. He is Rivals100's #60 prospect. Doug is the younger brother of former MSU quarterback Ryan Van Dyke. He is TheInsiders' #81 prospect. His scheduled official Michigan official visit for the Nov. 2 MSU game is postponed -- Marshall has playoff games on Saturdays. Michigan leads, but Nebraska and Purdue are only slightly behind, and Ohio State is in the mix as well.

- Scheduled official visit POSTPONED: Running back/safety Jerome Jackson (MSU Nike stats: 5-11 1/2, 193 lbs. ... 4.45 in the 40, 3.5 GPA/16 ACT) from Saginaw, Mich. He is TheInsiders' #58 running back. His Michigan official visit scheduled for the Nov. 2 MSU game weekend is postponed due to the playoffs. Michigan and MSU are his co-favs.

- Planned unofficial visit POSTPONED: Linebacker Anthony Rogers (MSU Nike stats: 6-1 1/2, 238 lbs., 4.1 in the shuttle; 4.8 in the 40, 25-inch vertical jump ... 315-lb. bench press, 3.0 GPA) from Saginaw, Michigan. His unofficial visit to the Nov. 2 MSU game is postponed due to the playoffs.

Oct. 26 Iowa Game

- Michigan commitment: All-American offensive lineman Jake Long (6-7, 295 lbs., 5.0 in the 40, 340-lb. bench press, 2.7 GPA) from Lapeer, Mich., East. He is TheInsiders.com's #72 prospect.

- Running Back Justin Valentine (6-2, 205 lbs., 4.45 in the 40, 3.1 GPA) from Columbus, Ohio, Eastmoor (former Wolverine Marcus Ray's school). He also attended the Michigan Spring Game.

Junior Recruiting Targets Spotted

- Junior 'Athlete' Morgan Trent (6-0, 180 lbs., 4.4 in the 40) Orchard Lake St. Mary's. He is considered perhaps the #1 instate junior.

- Running back Derrick Brooks (6-1, 180 lbs., 4.5 in the 40) from Detroit Catholic Central.

- Junior offensive lineman Alex Mitchell (6-4, 300 lbs.) from Bay City Central. He also attended the PSU game.

- Junior Jerry Wazkowski (6-3, 220 lbs.) from Cudahy, Wisconsin (alma mater of John Navarre and freshman running back Pierre Rembert). He also attended the Utah game.

- Junior running back Tony Bridges (5-10, 185) from Kalamazoo, Mich., Loy Norrix.

- Junior lineman Corvin Nash (6-4, 265 lbs.) from Detroit Pershing.

Sophomore Recruiting Targets Spotted

- Sophomore defensive tackle Terrance Taylor (MSU Nike stats: 6-0, 294 lbs., and an impressive 24 repetitions of 185 lbs. in the bench press) from Muskegon Mich. He is considered one of the top three instate sophomores. He also attended the Utah game.

- Sophomore quarterback Evan Sharpley (6-2, 175 from Marshall) . He is considered one of the top five instate sophomores.

October 12 PSU Game

- All-American linebacker Lamarr Woodley from Saginaw, Mich. He is TheInsiders' #2 prospect. [Note: and we also spotted a "Demarcus;" it may have been his cousin, junior RB Demarcus Laury]. Woodley enjoyed himself playing basketball, as usual, with the Michigan basketballers. He also attended the Sept. 8 WMU game, and will make his official visit to Michigan the Nov. 2 MSU-game weekend.

- Several kids from the Cleveland, Ohio, Glenville team (alma mater of Wolverine Pierre Woods), including:

- Defensive back Kevin Mitchell (2002 Michigan camper, 6-0, 185 lbs., 4.5 in the 40) from Ft. Wayne, Ind., Homestead.

- Wide receiver Jacob Tamme (2002 Michigan camper, 6-5, 205 lbs., 4.55 in the 40) from Danville, Kent.

His best rating is from Rivals100, where he is the #6 'all-purpose' back.

- Cornerback Quinton McCoy (5-11, 174 lbs., 4.3 in the 40, 10.5 electronically timed 100 meters, 38 inch vertical jump, 3.3 GPA) from Waterford, Mich. McCoy was a 2002 Michigan signee, but he is still working on a passing test score. He intends to enroll at Michigan in Jan. 2003.
