Introducing the State's Youngins Part II

In part II we are introducing more prospects from the class of 2010 and 2011. It was mentioned to you in part I that this would be a three part series but we are going to stretch the series for the rest of the spring and summer.

Shannon Williams 2010, Detroit Cass Tech-He is post player who generally cleans up around the basket. At 6'7 and a strong body creates space to rebound and score down low. Runs the floor very well, defends well in the paint, we would like for him to develop a few more post moves. Shannon should continue to get better.

Richaud "Pacman"Pack 6'2 2010, Birmingham Seaholm-This kid can really shoot the rock from the perimeter. When he comes in the game that is what he is in there to do. He plays hard, gets in the lane to score but needs to do it more often to work the inside outside game. His game is really coming around.

Darren Washington 6'8 2011, Sterling Heights Stevenson-Could be the next great big man out of the state? Only time will tell others are ahead of him right now but his potential is sky high. Darren is a big man with athleticism he gets up and down the floor well. Very good rebounder and has an ability to score around the basket. He needs to develop better post moves, footwork and understand his position better. He has an edge to him where he wants to get better and that is what I really like about this kid. Hard work is what will get him to where he wants to be.

Matt Pouches 6'3 2011, Hartland- A wing player that can put it on the floor and get to the rack to score. I had a chance to see Matt earlier this year and wondered why he didn't get more playing time on his high school team. Very aggressive on the offensive end of the floor, he can pull up from the outside and can the three. He is a high energy guy that needs to slow down at times, Matt has a nice bounce to his game. He gets after it on both ends of the floor, solid player.

Dan Chilcote 6'5 2011 Jackson Lumen Christi- Dan is an inside outside player, he can score around the paint and from the perimeter. He likes to take the ball from the perimeter and drive to the rack to score. He can stroke it from the outside, at the small forward spot potentially can be a tough cover. Dan will need to get a little stronger and quicker he has plenty of time for that. We will be watching his development as he progresses.

Glen Cosey 5'11 2010, Flint Carmen-Ainsworth- Glen had a very good game against Michael Talley JR. He told us that he had something to prove, Glen showed an ability to get to the basket to score, Very quick off the dribble, he can stroke it from deep. He has very good handles and sees the floor well. Was that a one game wonder or will he continue at that level of play? This summer will give us that answer.
