U-M and Jaamal Berry? Time Will Tell.

GoBlueWolverine caught up with Jaamal Berry, the lighting quick running back from Miami Palmetto Senior High School. The standout back currently holds offers from across the country and has been reported to be favoring Florida and Ohio State. Does Michigan have a shot?

"Not too hectic," Berry responded when asked about recruiting. "The whole recruiting process is going smooth. Florida, Ohio State, and Ole Miss are coming at me the hardest right now. And Coach Magee is recruiting me for Michigan."

Two schools are standing out the most on Jaamal's radar, Ohio State and Florida, though he doesn't have a real list set in stone.

"I went to Ohio State and I loved the visit, it was a great time, that's why they're on top. I've only been there and Florida for visits."

"I may change the top schools around in the summer after a couple visits."

With the Buckeyes and Gators out in front for Berry's services, many ask if Michigan even has a legitimate chance to land the talented youngster.

"Actually they do."

With only two visits under his belt, will he make the trek from Miami to Ann Arbor?

"If I'm going to go there, I'm going to have to make it up during the summer. I've got to talk to my mom and my mentor about my visits. I don't know where yet, but I'll be going to five schools."

Jaamal and his mother are extremely close and she'll be a massive part of his decision when he gets ready to make it. "She's a big person in making my decision, as well as my mentor and my grandpa. Those people will be big in the decision I make."

Berry has several things they're looking for on those visits, things that will help him start narrowing down his list towards the end of the summer time.

"Tradition. A winning football team. Education. Great atmosphere … great coaching … players … fans. That's about it."

He knows that he can find those things if he decides to come to Michigan. "They're known to run the ball well, they're a great team, they compete every year, they're a school that has a great tradition of winning."

If the talented young man can make it up to Ann Arbor for a visit over the summer, anything can happen with this young man.

"Time will tell. Hopefully over the summer when the season starts I can make a top five. Time will tell."
