Las Vegas (Nev.) Silverado High School DE Keenan Graham already holds over twenty offers from major programs like USC, UCLA, Oklahoma, and Nebraska, but one school Graham wasn't expecting recently tossed their name into the mix as well.
"The Michigan offer is a big one, it was exciting … I wasn't expecting it."
Graham (6-4, 215), a member of the Scout 300 (at #253) and currently the 23rd ranked defensive end in the country, besieged offenses during his junior campaign to the tune of 72 tackles and 13.5 sacks en route to helping his team to their first ever undefeated (9-0) regular season and city championship.
"My speed is definitely my biggest strength," claims Graham, "I ran a 4.59 at the Nike combine. I think I need to work on my moves though and not rely on my speed too much. I'd like to gain some weight too and work on my run defense."
Michigan defensive coordinator Scott Shafer has been responsible for recruiting Graham, and so far the Wolverines are showing him some of the most interest. When asked what has piqued his own interest in Michigan, Graham replied "It's just the tradition and history. I have family there too, in Flint."
Although Graham had earlier narrowed down his list to a top seven, in light of recent events his recruiting is "a work in progress ... I'm definitely interested in Michigan."
Distance also doesn't seem to be a major factor for Graham as he's grown up in a military family, and besides he still has family in Michigan. "I actually lived up there in Michigan for about a year, and my dad is still in Flint."
Although he won't be able to attend Michigan's Senior Day Camp June 8th, there are still plans in the works for him to see the campus and meet the staff first-hand soon thereafter. "We're having a family reunion up there June 11th, so I'm planning on heading over there (to Ann Arbor) while we're up there for that."
"I can't wait to see it."
