Seffner (FL) Armwood's Mywan Jackson spent quite a bit of time in the Great Lakes State last week. He visited the University of Michigan and also spent some time with some family on the west side of the state.
“We actually got back last night," Jackson said. "We were in Grand Rapids visiting some family. Having them up there definitely helps (Michigan‘s chances).”
Now that he’s back in Florida, Jackson is taking the reflect upon his trek up north, and i finding himself more and more impressed with teh Maize & Blue.
“It was wonderful," he said. "Just everything. They were first class about everything. And the Big House is beautiful! Michigan is now my leader, absolutely.”
The red carpet treat Jackson and his family received in Ann Arbor was key in setting the Wolverines apart.
“We hung out with Coach Frey and we also talked to Coach Schafer and Coach Magee," Jackson recalled. "We toured the facilities, talked to the academic counselor, and we even saw the hockey stadium. I’d never seen one before. It was just wonderful. I never knew a hockey stadium could be that big.”
“Just the history behind Michigan, man, that’s my favorite part.”
So did the young Mr. Jackson pull the trigger for the Wolverines?
“Not yet, but we visit Auburn this upcoming weekend so we’ll see, he said. "After this visit to Auburn... if it doesn’t go as well then maybe. It’s going to have to take the same environment as Michigan. They just have to offer me more than Michigan can.”
And if the Auburn trip doesn't equal his time at Michigan?
“We’ll have to see," Jackson said. "I would like to try to take some officials, but man, Michigan is definitely getting one of them. I just had an absolutely wonderful time.”
