Michigan to Play Florida in the Outback Bowl

The University of Michigan has accepted the invitation to play the University of Florida in the Outback Bowl on New Year's Day.

Michigan will be playing in their 7th consecutive New Year's Day bowl game, facing a Southeastern Conference opponent for the 5th year in a row. The Outback Bowl will feature the first ever meeting between the Wolverine and the Florida Gators, two of college football's traditional powers.

"We are excited about the opportunity to represent the Big Ten Conference in the Outback Bowl," said Michigan Athletic Director Bill Martin. "Our student-athletes, coaches, support staff and fans look forward to the trip to Tampa. This should be an outstanding game against a tough Florida team."

"Our fans are encouraged to order tickets early through the Athletic Ticket Office to ensure seating with Michigan family and friends. We want to make Raymond James Stadium as Maize and Blue as possible."
