Mike Jones first made his way to Ann Arbor on an unofficial visit to Michigan over the summer and fell in love. A commitment followed not long after, and it's a commitment that has stayed firm but also put a target on the young man's back.
"Oh man, our season is kind of rough," he said about his Orlando Edgewater team's season so far. "We got off to a slow, slow start and we're trying to get things turned around. I didn't get off to the start I expected either, but everyone has been keying in on me."
That target certainly got bigger since his commitment to Michigan. And though things in Ann Arbor haven't been up to form, Jones isn't discouraged.
"I saw they lost to Toledo, but they have a really, really young team."
Having such a young team has helped kept Jones commitment firm, and also has him looking forward to when he arrives at campus.
"Oh yeah, my commitment is real strong. They have such a young team I feel I could come in and play because I have talent."
"And I'll be enrolling early and be there for the spring."
Jones still hasn't been able to make it up for his official visit to his future university.
"I was supposed to come up for the Michigan State game, but that game is so packed. I have no clue when I'll make it up there but I'll be coming up there."
