"Yes he did commit to Michigan," the mother of West Palm Beach (FL) kicker, Brendan Gibbons told GoBlueWolverine moments ago.
The 6'0, 205-lbs, Gbbons sports a powerful leg, having boomed 85% of his kickoffs into the endzone last season. He finished that year 1st team All-Conference after hitting 26/28 PATs and 6/10 field goals with a long of 52 yards.
He made his way to the Michigan kicking camp last summer and turned heads with an impressive performance. His Michigan recruitment went cold, thought, after Houston (TX) St. Pius K Anthony Fera pledged to the Wolverines. However, news of Fera's decommit reopened the door for Gibbons, and he officially joined the Maize & Blue fold this afternoon despite growing specualtion that Miami was on the verge of offering.
Stay tuned for more comments from Gibbons himself in the hours to come.
