Change of Plans for Hunter?

The Michigan Wolverines are still hot on the trail of a number of prospects, many of whom are committed to other schools. GoBlueWolverine reported last week that North Carolina CB commitment Josh Hunter was one such prospect. He had scheduled a visit Michigan, but a conflict has forced him to alter his plans. Is the Tar Heel State standout still planning to trip to Ann Arbor?

Charlotte (NC) Mallard Creek high CB Josh Hunter has been committed to the North Carolina program since October, but that hasn't stopped him from staying in contact with several schools that have maintained interest.  He's even mentioned being open to taking visits so he can further hear what they have to say. One of those programs he plans to trip to is the University of Michigan.  As he prepares to hit the road, though, he wants it stated clearly that he still considers himself a Tar Heel.

"(The verbal to North Carolina) is a pretty strong commitment" Hunter told GoBlueWolverine.

With that understood, he is looking full steam ahead toward his trip to Ann Arbor.  Originally he was slated to head to the Great Lake State for the weekend of December 6th.  However, due to a conflict it will be rescheduled.

"I am (still planning to visit), but I'm going to have to switch it to the second week of December because I have the SAT's," Hunter explained.

While it's clear that have the Wolverines substantial ground to make up for Hunter, them doing so is not impossibility.  If their presentation blows him away, the tables could be turned in their favor.

"They're still recruiting me hard," he said of the Maize & Blue. "I can come in and get some big playing time.  They say they need me. That's why I'm coming up there… just to make sure I aint missing nothing. I'm just looking for connection… just connection. I want to feel like I'm at home."

"Distance (from home) isn't a problem," he later added.

Stay tuned to GoBlueWolverine for more on Hunter in the coming weeks.
