Michigan Still In Pursuit Of Denard Robinson

The Maize and Blue are still after the Deerfield Beach, Florida do-it-all athlete. Is he responding to the calls? Which big name for the Wolverine's made his way to visit him? GoBlueWolverine gets the scoop.

Denard Robinson has had Michigan in the top tier of schools recruiting him for quite some time. All along, the Wolverines have promised to let Robinson mix it up on both sides of the ball, something that Robinson has envisioned himself doing.

However, a heavy hitter from his home state of Florida is also making the calls to Robinson. The Florida Gators have offered Robinson as a quarterback and are giving him the chance to be a signal-caller there, something Robinson has stated he's wanted all along.

"Yeah they offered me as a quarterback. Every time they talk to me, they talk about quarterback. I liked it, and I'm liking Florida right now ... but I'm still wide open."

Regardless of the Gators' heavy pursuit now, and Robinson's heavy return-interest, the Wolverines are still making strong overtures for Denard.

"I actually just got off the phone with the coaches from Michigan. Calvin Magee came down to my school and saw me on Monday. We're going to set up a visit soon. We talked about playing that quarterback spot and if I can get a chance to come up there and play."

Getting a recruit on campus is one of the hardest parts of any recruitment, but Robinson is excited for the chance.

"I'm looking forward to it."

I've never been out of the state."

As GBW reported this morning, Michigan has also offered Denard's teammate: WR/S/Ath Adrian Witty (6-1, 185) ... we'll see if they end up setting Michigan visits together.
