We talked Monday afternoon to All-American linebacker Shawn Crable (Dec. 13 official visit, 2002 Michigan camper, 6-6, 225 lbs., 4.74 in the 40, 10.8 100 meters, 2.8 GPA/15 ACT) from Massillon, Ohio, Washington. We asked him the usual: about his visit, what's next, etc.
"It was a real good visit. My host was Pierre Woods, and we just hung around with a lot of the players, Marlin (Jackson), Jeremy LeSueur a lot of them. The best part of the visit was the players, their attitudes -- we just kicked it if you know what I mean. That and the academic part - I liked that too. I hope to major in business."
As far as the future:
"I go to Miami this weekend, just to check things out down there. And I still have Pitt and Ohio State in January."
We asked him about being named All-State yesterday (Sunday):
"I was at the Buckeye Banquet (in Columbus) last night, I just got an award for making first team All-State in class 1-A."
And as far as playing basketball and how his foot (broken last spring) is since there was a report that he is still rehabbing it:
"As far as basketball goes, I'm still kind've debating it. I'll probably wait until after my visits are over. But it's got nothing to do with my foot -- that's fine. I'll be playing in the US Army All-Star Game."
