Jeff Zuttah Commits! reached New Jersey O-liner Jeff Zuttah early Thursday afternoon, and confirmed his commitment to Michigan. Zuttah is the Wolverines' 12th verbal commitment to date.

All-American offensive lineman Jeff Zuttah (6-4, 280 lbs., 4.95 in the 40, 390 lb. bench press, 3.2 GPA/1160 SAT) from The Hun School, Princeton, New Jersey. Jeff has committed to Michigan! He is Tom Lemming's #73 prospect, and has been selected to the final roster of the US Army All-Star Game in San Antonio. Zuttah plans to enroll at Michigan in January.

Have you made a commitment?

"Yeah, I committed to Michigan. I committed last night (Wednesday)."

What made you decide on Michigan?

"The academics was the main thing. And I really loved the atmosphere. I really wanted the chance to compete at a high level. It was just everything."

Note: We spoke with Jeff on Thursday afternoon. He asked us to not post our story until Friday, so that he had an opportunity to turn down the other coaches that had been recruiting him.

Jeff visited Michigan on the Dec. 13-15 weekend. On Dec. 15 he told us why he went to the Hun Prep School this fall (it certainly wasn't because of academic shortcomings): "I got a bad throat infection just before the season last year and lost a lot of weight. So I did not get heavily recruited. Now I'm 6-4, 279 lbs. My best 40 time is 4.96 seconds."

Jeff will enroll at Michigan in January and participate in spring practice.
