Bastrop, LA standout DeQuinta Jones has been making the rounds recently, having visited both Arkansas and Auburn. It has become increasingly apparent of late that proximity to home is more of an issue now than it was when he made his initial commitment to Michigan. His comments on the heels of the aforementioned visits make that clear. However, on each occasion he has also stated, "I'm still committed to Michigan."
That commitment is obviously lacking strength at the moment. As a result, the Wolverines are doing their best to sure it up.
"I just talked to (Michigan) today," Jones told GoBlueWolverine Tuesday night. "Coach Hop and Coach Rodriguez, they were just here saying they really want me. They were saying they want me to come up there this weekend and really enjoy myself on my visit because there won't be that many recruits coming up there."
Arkansas and Auburn are still to be reckoned with down the stretch, but Jones also made mention of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and now Tennessee.
Whether he takes any trips after his visit to Michigan remains to be seen. If he doesn't, his decision will likely come down to Michigan, Arkansas, and Auburn. When it comes time to choose a winner among those three, it sounds as if it will be an agonizing decision.
"All I can say is all the schools are even right now," Jones said. "I don't know what (the decision) is going to come down to."
GoBlueWolverine will have more on Jones in the days to come.
