His Recruiting Story
Je'Ron has been on the recruiting radar since he started his sophomore season on varsity. In the fall of his junior year, the interest really began building as Pittsburgh was the first to offer him and Illinois shortly followed. The Wolverines also made contact, inviting him up for an unofficial visit. Stokes however, would continue to add more options, puling in seven more offers before the end of the season.

As a junior, he would go on to break two school receiving records. That spring, he committed to Tennessee. However, with the coaching change at Tennessee, Stokes began looking at his options again. One of them, was Michigan, who dropped in on him for an in-home in December. Stokes maintained at that point that he was still committed to Tennessee.

Stokes then changed his mind and decided he was down to four: Michigan, Tennessee, Illinois and Georgia and committed to the Wolverines on Signing Day.

GoBlueWolverine Commentary
Stokes is a playmaker. He has great speed and acceleration, which allows him to separate from defensive backs. He should fit in well in the slot for the Wolverines early on, but has the tools to transition into an outside spot as well. With his explosiveness, he should provide competition as a return specialist as well.
