His Recruiting Story

Craig Roh was one of the biggest recruiting successes for the Wolverines in 2009. At a position of dire need, the Wolverines secured Roh's verbal over the likes of USC, UCLA, and his home state school Arizona State.

Roh took his only official visit to Michigan on August 30th to witness the first game in the Rich Rodriguez era. Even though the Wolverines battled hard and fell short, it did nothing to dampen Roh's spirits.

"The visit was a "10" ... we'll see any other school will be able to top it."

No other school even received the opportunity to try and top the Wolverines. Two and half weeks after his official visit, Roh made an appearance on ESPNU's recruiting show to announce his decision.

"I just knew in my heart the this is where I can maximize my potential, physically and mentally."

GoBlueWolverine Commentary

Roh was indeed a very big success for Rodriguez and company. With the departure of Tim Jamison, and very little in terms of depth behind him, Roh becomes an immediate option to possibly see early playing time.

Much has been made, with reason, to add more bulk to Roh's thin frame. When he adds that weight and muscle, his options are unlimited in Greg Robinson's new schemes.

Roh was another riser after a dominating effort in the Under Armour All American game.
