La Canada, California RB/LB Dietrich Riley had already received offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Notre Dame, UCLA, USC , Washington, and Tennessee, but one would have thought he hadn't yet received any based on his reaction to the news he received out of Ann Arbor today.
"They offered me," an extremely excited Riley said regarding Michigan moments ago. "It was crazy! Coach Rodriguez said he watched my film last night and he loved it. I had a long talk with him this morning. He said their main running back is a senior this year and that they need some bigger backs. He said he'd love for me to come to Michigan. It was crazy."
Riley used his blend of power and speed to rush for over 1300 yards on the ground and over 1700 all-purpose last season. He was also an imposing presence on defense as a linebacker, and many schools are recruiting him at that position. The Golden State standout said he has yet to decide which side of the ball he will play on at the next level, though he initially indicated he prefers offense.
GoBlueWolverine will have more on Riley in the coming days.
