Jerome Jackson in the Music City.

We at GBW had been calling Saginaw, Mich. running back Jerome Jackson's home daily for the past week or so without success, and we wondered if he'd be gone down to Nashville to watch his brother Terry's Minnesota Gophers play in the Music City Bowl. So weasked two of our correspondents who were going to the Music City game to keep an eye out for him. Sure enough -- they ran into Jerome wearing his Saginaw varsity jacket. And Jackson was obliging enough to do an impromptu interview for us.

"You're reporting this for Tom Beaver? Say 'Hi' to him for me."

Regarding when his college decision will be made, and whether he has a leader, etc., Jerome Jackson (Dec. 6 official visit, MSU Nike stats: 5-11 1/2, 193 lbs. ... 4.45 in the 40, 3.5 GPA/16 ACT) said:

"I think I will decide not too long after the new year. It's Minnesota, Michigan Michigan and Purdue. I've talked to the new MSU coach on the phone, but I haven't met him in person. Michigan is my leader."

Regarding Lamarr Woodley:

"Lamarr and I would like to attend the same school if possible, sure. I think he's leaning to Michigan too, but I'm not really sure. And I'm not speaking for him or anything."

One more thing. Jerome's uncle also chimed in a short time later: "I definitely think Jerome is leaning to Michigan."
