The Wolverines led throughout the first half and took a 39-34 advantage into halftime. But then IUPUI went ahead 39-34 at the 16 minute mark, and the lead changed several more times until Michigan finally went ahead for good 69-67 with just over three minutes left.
Senior forward LaVell Blanchard led Michigan in scoring with 23 points, freshman guard Lester Abram added a career-high 20, and frosh point guard Daniel Horton scored 17 points and had nine assists. Blanchard also led the team in rebounds with eight.
Once again Michigan shot well (52% overall, 43% from three point range, and 82% on free throws) and limited their turnovers (12).
