Is Christian Closing in on a Decision?

Michigan has scored two commitments from the Keystone State in recent weeks, and many Michigan fans are hoping Pittsburgh (PA) Penn Hills star Cullen Christian will become the third in the near future. GoBlueWolverine caught up with the talented youngster to get the latest on his visit plans, his decision timetable, and more.

"This week has been a real long week for me," said Christian when asked about his prior plan to visit Michigan Friday.  "I took the SAT on Saturday and I had to study for all that and then I had finals the same week.  All the stress and everything has been piling up and we're just taking that stuff real serious.  My dad rescheduled (the trip to Michigan) for I think next Wednesday.  I think I'm going to go to Michigan State, and then I'm going to stay overnight and then I'm at Michigan on Thursday.  Coach Gibson wants to show me some stuff that he's talking about."

"I'll just probably be up there (in Ann Arbor) for Thursday, but I don't know," Christian continued.  "We might end up sticking around for Friday.  I don't know.  I haven't been up there since that last visit, so I'm really trying to get the real feel of it.  This might be the last time I'm up there for the summer.  I am definitely going to start to talk to all the players because I don't want to commit and go up there and be a stranger to everybody."

Before anyone takes that last statement as a sign of Christian's imminent commitment plans, the four-star corner made it clear that he is still leaning toward making his decision after a few official visits in the fall.

"I know two (officials) for a fact that I'm probably going to take," he reported.    I'll be at Michigan for an official.  I want to come up there and hang with some of the players during a game week and really get the real feel for it.  I am going to take an official out to UCLA too."

Next week Christian expects the Michigan coaching to try to convince him to alter the aforementioned plan.

"(Coach Gibson) has been real patient about it, but I think he really wants me to commit and get it out of the way," said Christian.  "I think he should just keep waiting it out though.  I'm all about Michigan right now, for real.  He's still trying to bond with me and stuff like that.  That's really what it is all about, my and his bond.  If I go there, he's going to be coaching me for the next three to four years." I'm just trying to check everyone out and everything."

GoBlueWolverine will have more on Christian in the coming days.
