Michigan trailed 32-19 at the half, as Michigan got hit with early foul trouble (senior forward LaVell Blanchard, junior forward Bernard Robinson and freshman guard Lester Abram all picked up two). Then in the second half the game see-sawed back and forth, Ohio State leading 36-29 at the 19 minute mark, then Michigan rallying with 11 straight points to move ahead 41-36 at 12:37. OSU rallied in return to take the lead 46-45 at the eight minute mark, but, led by Blanchard and Freshman point guard Daniel Horton, Michigan took command from there, leading 53-16 with 3:53 left and extending the lead from there to win it 61-50.
Horton led Michigan with 17 points, followed by Blanchard with 13 and Robinson with 12. Both teams shot poorly, Michigan 41.7% and OSU 35.6%. It was an 'ugly-game' victory for Michigan but a win nonetheless!
After starting the season 0-6, Michigan has won 10 straight to go 10-6, and 2-0 in the Big Ten. Ohio State is now 8-6 (1-2).
Michigan's next game is Saturday afternnon at Northwestern (8-6, 0-3) which lost tonight to Indiana 71-57.
