Running back/linebacker Tony Hunt (Dec. 13 official visit, 6-2, 225 lbs., Maryland camp stats: 4.52 in the 40, 28 reps of 185 lbs., 33-inch vertical jump) from Alexandria, Vir., T. C. Williams does not like to talk to the press. However, his uncle has been keeping yours truly up to date on his recruiting -- and the news is promising.
"Tony has kind've keeping to himself on this."
"My gut ... it's Michigan and Penn State ... with Maryland possibly in it too. Tony just cancelled a Virginia visit for this weekend. He will go to Penn State next weekend."
"No decisions have been made yet. Michigan has not been in the home yet -- I talked to my brother (Tony's dad) today and Michigan has not scheduled an inhome yet. USC was in last night (Tuesday). Coach Friedjen from Maryland is in the home tomorrow (Thursday). I'm not sure when Michigan is coming, but they'll be here. PSU will be in within the week."
"He'll probably decide right after next weekend."
Tony has already visited USC, Michigan and Maryland. He'd made a 'soft commitment' to USC, and his uncle said, "USC's two running back commitments (Reggie Bush and LenDale White) have nothing to do with things for Tony. Tony never shies away from a challenge."
Note: The TC Williams athletic director is the brother of PSU coach Larry Johnson. However, one interview Tony himself has made this week has been to SuperPrep.com -- and he told them Michigan leads! See SuperPrep.com for details.
For the season Hunt rushed for 1200 yards on only 200 carries. He is Tom Lemming's #23 prospect in the Mid-Atlantic region, one away from being on Lemming's All-American team.
