Shades of Ernest Shazor and Drew Henson. Michigan has 'blended' the 2003 and 2004 recruiting process by filling their 'empty' position in the Feb. 2003 class -- wide receiver.
We have just confirmed with the Orchard Lake St. Mary's staff that Coach Carr was at the school this week and got a verbal commitment from wide receiver Morgan Trent (5-11, 175 lbs., 4.4 in the 40).
Trent was the state 100 meters runner-up this past spring (Div. II) with a time of 10.8 seconds.
Coming out of both his sophomore season Morgan was been considered one of the top five instate prospects in his class by "Jim S.," and possibly #1. Orchard Lake did not have a good season this past fall, and coming out of the season Trent's rating slipped slightly as well, but he is still ranked solidly in the top five instate juniors.
Trent is a great pick-up for Michigan! And a great start towards a large (perhaps all the way to 25) 2003/04 recruiting class. We will hopefully reach Trent himself soon, for his own 'official' confirmation.
