Amaker and Hunter Discuss Loss at Minnesota

Following a disappointing loss to the Minnesota Golden Dophers, head coach Tommy Amaker and freshman center Chris Hunter met with the media to discuss the game.

Head Coach Tommy Amaker

On the game:

"It was certainly very entertaining. I was disappointed in the number of points that we gave up. I am very proud of our team and the way they battled today, despite the outcome. We had it to a one-possession ballgame when Lester Abram took the three late in the game, unfortunately it didn't fall."

On the freshmen:

"I think they were the reason we were going to win the game. To see the kind of effort that they gave, especially on the road, shows the toughness of this class."

On Chris Hunter:

"To see him hold his own with his arm basically in a sling shows the toughness and dedication to this program."

On playing with the injured shoulder:

"I just went out there and tried to give my team a good effort even though my shoulder was hurting. I knew the team needed me so I tried not to think about the shoulder when I was on the floor."

On playing in Williams Arena:

"I think it is a tough place to play. The crowd gets into the game and I like to play in a place where it is loud and the fans are into the game. This is a tough place to play, but it is also a fun place to play."

On looking to shoot more:

"I feel more comfortable on the floor now than at the beginning of the season. Because of that I have been looking to shoot when I have open shots."

On the injured shoulder:

"I was in a lot of pain today, but we have a week off so I will be alright when we play Iowa next Saturday."
