Recruiting Coordinator Bill Sheridan

Yours truly talked this (Wed.) afternoon to U-M recruiting coordinator Bill Sheridan. The whole interview will be printed in the Signing Day Issue of Go Blue Wolverine Magazine. Here are several interesting statements by him on the class, on next year, and on his future coaching position.

"The kudos for this class should not go to me. They should go to the eight great Michigan assistants who do all the work on the road, and to our recruiting staffers who go unnoticed: Mary Passink, Brad Labadie and Gina Newell."

"Getting the four kids late was not an intentional strategy on our part. As you know, the high profile guys don't decide until January. And this year we thought we had a chance with several of them. That motivated us to hang in there. So that was the big thing -- we always thought we had a real good shot at them: Burgess, Woodley and Crable, and Jerome Jackson."

"Next year we are looking at a class closer to 25."

On another matter: "If Lloyd Carr announces it today on the record ... yes, I am moving to defensive line coach next year. And staying as recruiting coordinator."
