The once settled recruitment of Wyoming (OH) High DL Jibreel Black is anything but these days. The four-star prospect now finds himself almost back at square one again.
"Everything is good," Black said regarding how he's currently feeling. "We're taking (recruiting) slow again. Coach Kelly leaving (for Notre Dame) put a lot of stuff in disarray. We're just trying to hopefully make the right choice now."
One of his options is to remain committed to Cincinnati, but part of determining whether that's the best choice is building a rapport with new Bearcat headman Butch Jones.
"He's only keeping one coach from the old staff," reported Black. "He announced that at the press conference. I didn't get to talk to him yet. He is supposed to be calling me sometime soon though."
Earlier this week a coach that Black has already forged a relationship with initiated contact on behalf of another school.
"(Michigan assistant) Coach (Jay) Hopson made it by Wednesday," the 6-2, 260-pounder stated. "He let me know that Michigan still wants me and that they still have an interest in me. He talked to me about the 22nd (of January)."
At the moment Black's visit plans are tentative will likely grow to include a trip to Michigan State.
"(Michigan State assistant) Coach (Harlon) Barnett stopped by," said Black. "We talked about an official."
Kentucky, Louisville, and Indiana are other suitors that made his list of finalists that could also reemerge on Black's visit itinerary. An obvious question is will he consider adding Brian Kelly's new team to his recruiting mix.
"Not right now," he replied. "I don't know for sure that I'd go to Notre Dame."
GoBlueWolverine will have more on Black in the coming days and weeks.
