Terry Talbott Looks at Carolina, and ...

Defensive Lineman Terry Talbott went on an official visit this weekend to North Carolina. Talbott, who has been a long-time commitment to Michigan, decided to visit the Tar Heels just a few weeks ago. GBW caught up with Terry, and he talks about the what he likes about the Tar Heels, the purpose of the visit, and where Michigan stands with him.

Signing day is just a few weeks away and players are becoming a little edgy: some have decomitted from schools that they were committed to and re-pledged with other schools. Terry Talbott, the defensive lineman from Ohio who is committed to Michigan, has just taken a visit to the University of North Carolina.

"It was a pretty good visit," he told GoBlueWolverine "I got a feel for the people there. It was a nice trip and I like North Carolina and what they have there."

The Tar Heels staff and what they have to offer certainly impressed the young man.

"I love the coaches," he said. "It was real family oriented down there. I was very comfortable. I am thinking about North Carolina."

Terry has been thinking about taking visits for a while; just recently he decided to go through with this visit. He does have his reasons for looking at other schools at this time.

"During my high school's football season things were so busy I never had the chance to go and take a look at other schools. It was something I wanted to be able to do. I just didn't want to look back and regret not taking a look at other schools."

Talbott says, "I am still committed to Michigan," but the Tar Heels have piqued his interest.

"This is nothing bad about Michigan. I just wanted to check out North Carolina to see how they stack up against Michigan ... and for the most part they are just as strong as Michigan is. I like both schools."

Talbott has a lot to think about concerning the direction his recruitment, especially considering how close signing day he is. The North Carolina visit has certainly made the young man think about things a little harder.

"I have a lot to think about. I just don't know what I am going to do right now."

One important note is the other half of the Talbott contingent, Terrance, didn't make the trip to Chapel Hill. Terry also hadn't discussed the visit with his DB-brother prior to the interview. Their desire to play together could loom large in the final analysis. It will surely be a topic of conversation when the Michigan coaches go into the Talbott home ... later this week.

Stay tuned to GoBlueWolverine for an interview with Terrence Talbott coming later today.
