Brandon Jackson Has Michigan High

The massive offensive lineman from the Cleveland area was in town for Michigan's first 2011 junior day and came away with the Wolverines in a solidified position on his recruiting list.

Brandon Jackson is already a man amongst boys when he steps onto the field.  And as one of Lakewood (OH) St. Edward's biggest offensive lineman, he isn't shy about lauding skills or his girth.

"I'm 6'4" and 330 pounds," Jackson said.  "I feel like I play pretty good.  I'm a good pass blocker and I'm a pretty aggressive run blocker.  I'm just a pretty good overall player.  At the start of the year, I started out playing tackle but the last three or four games I started playing guard.  I prefer to play tackle."

The Michigan Wolverines must agree with Jackson's sentiment since they invited him to their first junior day last week.

"It was an awesome experience," stated Jackson.  "I loved the campus.  The basketball game was great. Michigan upset UCONN and that was nice.  We saw the whole football facility, the weight room and the training room and the locker rooms.  I was just in awe of all the things that they had."

One of the most memorable aspects of the experience, was getting to spend some time with the coaches, especially his area recruiter Bruce Tall.

"I met Coach Rodriguez and talked with him for about five minutes before I left," recalled Jackson.  "I talked to Coach Tall because he's the recruiting guy for this area I got to talk to him for a while.  They just told me normal things.  Coach Tall told me about how he knows my area very well and Coach Rodriguez said he was looking forward to see me again."

While several universities are showing interest at this time, none has stepped forward yet with an offer.  According to Jackson, however, Michigan could be close to doing so.

"At this moment I don't hold any offers, but one of the coaches at Michigan told me they were going to try to come after me hard," he said.  Other than Michigan talking, I don't have anything.  I receive letters from Notre Dame, North Carolina State, Syracuse, Iowa State and Wisconsin, that's who I get frequently."

The overall visit to Ann Arbor was enough to solidify a strong position on Jackson's list, as well as part of Jackson's family.

"After this visit, Michigan is very high on my list," he stated.  "I always liked Michigan from when they first started sending me stuff, and It was positive to go to the campus and enjoy it.  They're very high on my list.  I brought my older brother with me and he thought the same thing I thought.  He was very impressed with the strength and conditioning coach.  He was just very impressed."
