Toledo LM Jack Miller Takes In Michigan

Another Toledo St. John's Jesuit prospect, DE/OT Jack Miller, made it in for Michigan's junior day, although just barely. The two-way prospect, for his part, was glad he did make it in.

DE/OT Jack Miller (6-5, 265) was just sitting around early on February 20th, when he received a call from his good friend in the Cleveland area. That phone call led to a trip to Ann Arbor.

"My buddy Ray Hamilton, his dad Tom played at West Virginia with Coach Rodriguez. So I've been communicating with coach through that, and Michigan said ‘Hey, Jack's on our radar, so why don't you bring him up on Saturday' ... and before you knew it I was talking to Coach Rodriguez and was up there for Junior Day."

The trip turned out to be a great experience for Miller as he got the full blast of what it's like to be a Wolverine on his visit.

"We toured the academic center for players. Obviously we got a tour of Schembechler Hall and the indoor facilities, the weight room, where the players meet. Basically we just got to do those tours and then we got to go to the basketball game against Penn State. It was good, it was really productive."

Part of that productivity was built with some one on one time with Michigan's head man. It was a conversation that led to some serious Maize and Blue thoughts.

"I got to talk to Coach Rodriguez personally and, you know, they like me and we're talking about an offer but we'll talk about it down the road. There are still some things that have to be laid out between me and the Michigan staff, but I definitely hope, and look forward to potentially a future at Michigan. I really like it. I really like Michigan. It's got a lot to offer in every category and it's a special place."

Part of the trip was spent with his good friend, Ray Hamilton from Strongsville (OH) who already holds a Michigan offer. During the trip and previously, the two have talked about the possibility of going to college together ... and Michigan might hold that opportunity should Miller receive an offer.

"Yeah (laughing), we've brought it up before. Michigan is definitely one of the top one's on my list and one of the top ones on his. We both have to find out what's right for ourselves, but if it works out that way that happens at the same school, it'd be a really cool experience."

Miller will have a quick turn around before he is in Ann Arbor again. Miller will be back in town in one week for the Michigan Football Showcase, being held at the University of Michigan.

"I hope to showcase my skills and abilities to whoever is there, and try to prove myself to schools a little bit more. Maybe put some schools or people over the top on whether they think I can play at their program. I'm just hoping to go show my abilities and see what happens."
